Does My Child Need Early Intervention?
As a mom or parent whose child has developmental delays or conditions and special needs, you're looking for help. Sometimes babies are born with a condition or special need that affects their development. Other times a condition is not apparent at birth, but over time you and your doctor begin to wonder if your child is developing properly.
- Parents choose early intervention therapies because they have been shown to yield benefits both immediate and life-long in areas such as behavior, academic achievement, delinquency and crime, and eventual career attainment.
- Early intervention therapies acquired from better-trained caregivers and where smaller child-to-staff ratios are available appear to provide the best results.
Early Childhood Intervention means finding specific ways to help your child become as functional as possible. Learn more on our Benefits of Early Intervention page, or contact TEIS today for more information.

How Do I Get Early Intervention Help for My Child?
Childhood evaluations and therapy services are available under the Federal Early Intervention Program for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities. Before services can be provided, an independent evaluation of your child must be completed. To assure impartiality, one agency offers evaluation services while another provides the therapeutic services.
